Condolence: I was fortunate to see Janie the week before Christmas this year on my visit to 'Country Critters' for P.Js. I first came to know Janie about 16 years ago when our daughter needed clothes. We met at a craft show in Owen Sound as I was touring for something that had a rural/farm look. As our son came a long a couple of years later, it was evident that our children would grow in and out of Janie's clothes for many years. Now that our children are both in highschool I can still say that the clothes she had a vision for are in our closet even this past Christmas. Over the years, I had many chances to purchase gifts through Janie for children. Although I have never met you, her family, I have heard many cute stories about her family and those grandchildren! Janie had a vision, she was persistent, I always admired how she wrapped her love of rural life, her love of children, friendship and her incredible talent as a seamstress into one. She was fortunate to have friends that supported that vision and her store lived on even when she turned ill. I am very thankful that I visited once again that week before Christmas when she was in the shop. I had an opportunity to say good bye in some small way. As I left the shop, Janie thanked me, called me by name and "a see you later" were our last words.I haven't forgotten that day. Markdale has lost a very bright star, far too soon on their main street. May you know that my family is thinking of you at this time and in the weeks to come. God Bless you all.

Condolence: I will dearly miss my sewing partner & a very dear friend of 20 years. I will remember the times when we first sewed in the basement of her house and the times we travelled to the craft shows. I have seen her struggle & courageously battle with her disease for the past 2 1/2 yrs & seen how she was suffering. All of this through a smile and a positive outlook. My sympathy goes out to Russ & all of her family, as I know they will miss her dearly as well.
