Peacefully, surrounded by family on Monday, April 30, 2018, of Arthur, previously of Flesherton in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late Percy(2001). Loving mother of Lary(Cindy) White of Wasaga, Allen(Ruth Anne) White of Arthur and the late Mervin(Julie Emonts). Outstanding Grandmother to Lisa(Jamie), Marie(Tom) Harris, Amanda Andrews, Wesley White, David White, Taresa Matchett and Mardy Emonts (Jen). Loved and remembered by great-grandchildren Audrey, Cameron, Brady, Angel, Amber, James, Emmerson, Jerrod, Tristen, Quinten, Mallari and Bridget, Breah and Jonyce. Edythe will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by siblings Warren, Lloyd and Murray Morrison, and Elda Briggs.
Edythe was born in Maxwell on November 2, 1923 to Alec and Elsie Morrison. When WWII broke out, she put her efforts forward and worked for Avril Air in Malton, during WWII, Riveting the wings of the Lancaster bomber, as depicted in a documentary based on her and her husband Percy's life; The 13th Mission, 'Rosie the Riveter'. She Married Percy, settled down and started her family. Edythe was an active part of the Maxwell community, having spent time as a member of the Orange Lodge, Order of the Eastern Star and the Maxwell United Church. Above her community, Edythe loved her family, raising her children and watching her grandchildren grow.
The family will receive friends at Fawcett Funeral Cremation Reception on Sunday, May 6 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm with a service from the chapel on Monday at 11am. Sisters and brother of the Order of the Eastern Star are called for service at the funeral home on Sunday at 6:30pm. Interment Maxwell Cemetery. Reception to follow at the Maxwell Community Centre.
