Obituary for Arthur Latimer "Art" Proctor

Proctor; Arthur Latimer – September 29, 1925 to October 17, 2022

Art passed peacefully on October 17, 2022 shortly after his 97th birthday at Stedman Hospice, Brantford, with family by his side. Humble, kind, generous, a man of faith, Art lived a life full of joy and love, he was a friend to all. Art and Ev retired to Eugenia in the beautiful Beaver Valley, the home of his childhood where he will be remembered for his beautiful heart, his entertaining stories and his maple syrup.

Art was predeceased by his beloved wife Evelyn (nee Acheson), infant son Leonard and grandson James(Reeve), sister Jean, and brother George. Survived by sister Eleanor Haayen and sisters-in-law Marina Onclin and Ruth Pyper. He leaves behind his daughters and their families: Valerie Van Duzen(David), Ann Hahn(Peter), MaryEllen Skelly(Roger), Elizabeth”Libby” Barrie(Tim). Grandchildren: John Reeve(Lana), Lauren Horwood(Derrick), Elliott Hahn(Tiffany), Kate Hahn(Mackenzie Korb), Rylan Skelly(Lynn), Kaitlyn Skelly, Mallory Pley(Dave), Emily Barrie-Verrilli(Alex), Hannah Ohannessian(Anthony) and Will Barrie.

In recent years, Art’s life was greatly enriched with the arrival of his great grandchildren: Adeline, Judah, Simeon, Sage(Reeve), Nicholas, Victoria(Hahn), Remi(Korb), Sullivan, Hutton(Pley), Ollie(Barrie-Verrilli). Also grieving his loss are many cherished nieces and nephews in the Proctor and Acheson families.

A Celebration of Art’s life will be held on Sunday, October 23rd at 2:00 p.m. at Gentle Shepherd Community Church in Eugenia. There will be a reception after the service.
