Obituary for Randall Scott Madill

MADILL; Randall Scott

Passed away suddenly, doing what he loved, driving, on Monday, September 26, 2022 in his 59th year. Loving father of Kyle and Josh, both of Markdale and Alyxandra (Tyler Yurechuk) of Shelburne. Beloved son of Gerald and Geraldine of Markdale. Cherished by his “partner in crime” and the love of his life, Melinda Croft of Markdale and missed by her children, Michaela and Aaron. Dear brother of Gail (Dave) Thompson of Markdale, Donna (Rick) Allen and Elizabeth (Bruce) Thompson all of Holland Centre. Proud uncle to Christine (Brandon), Travis, Dan (Danielle), Mike (Melissa), Mark (Alyssa), Dyllan (Sierra) and great uncle to Felicity, Milo, Ethan, Camdyn, Amelia, Bennett and Colson. He will be greatly missed by many family and friends.

Randall was born July 7, 1964, the youngest of four children and the only son to Gerald and Geraldine. He attended Beavercrest Elementary as well as Grey Highlands Secondary School, but being outdoors was where he was happiest. Being raised with a good work ethic and a love of his family and community Randall started working in the family business with his father before he could even walk. Operating equipment long before driving age, he was a natural in the business and had a real passion for the machinery and "playing in the dirt". This may be where his love of the outdoors came from - growing his passions for fishing, hunting, hockey, baseball, boating, ATV adventures, downhill skiing and camping. Randall shared these loves with Melinda and his children. His hard work continued right up to the last day, recently enjoying his newest toy - a bulldozer - moving around dirt, turning up the tunes and giggling. He loved his work. He loved his play. He loved his family. He loved his friends. The memories made with his children volunteering as the trainer of the Markdale Mohawks hockey team as well as enjoying Music in the Fields will be held close to their hearts. Randall will be remembered as a generous, caring father, son, brother and friend to many, as well his endless stories and his great laugh. He was always willing to give a helping hand or to just sit and listen.

Family and friends are welcome at the Celebration of Randall’s life on Saturday, October 8th, 2022 at the Markdale Golf and Curling Club from 3:00pm to 6:00pm with memories shared at 4:00pm. Cremation has taken place. Internment at Markdale Cemetery will take place at a later date.
