After a lengthy battle with Alzhiemer's, passed away peacefully at Grey Gables Nursing Home, Markdale on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at the age of 84 years. Beloved wife and best friend for 38 years to Iain Brown. Step-mother of Sally Janzen of Ottawa and Joanna(David) sparks of Sherwood Park, AB. She is predeceased by 3 sisters and 1 brother.
Monica's calling was always the medical field. Once she became a qualified nurse she was honoured to be part of the specialized heart team at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto, she took a year to be a midwife in the United Kingdom and delivered over 1000 babies in her years of service. She is also well known for her love and compassion while working at the Markdale Hospital.
A come and go celebration of Monica's life will take place on Wednesday, July 20 from 1:00-3:00pm at the Markdale Golf and Curling Club. Monica will be interred at the Markdale Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Grey-Bruce Alzheimer Society of the charity of your choice would be gratefully appreciated.
