Passed away with family by his side at Grey Bruce Health Services, Markdale in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of Blanche (nee Walker) and loving father to Douglas and his wife Joy, and Margaret and her husband Francis O’Connor. Dear grandfather of Ciara O’Connor. Survived by his sister Gwen and Bob Read and brother Gerald and Ann Lawler, sisters-in-law Edythe Lawler, Norma Lawler and Ruth(Mike) Matthews. Predeceased by his parents Walter and Jean Lawler of Maxwell , brothers Stanley and Floyd, sisters Marilyn Mullin and Marian Lawler and brothers-in-law Elmer Mullin and Grant Betts.
Following graduation from Flesherton High School in 1947 Wes began a 40 year career in electric power system operation with Ontario Hydro. In 1988 he retired to the Walker-Lawler family farm near Eugenia before residing in Markdale in recent years.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Fawcett Funeral Cremation Reception, 1 Highland Drive, Flesherton. Funeral Service from the chapel on Sunday at 2pm. Brethren of Price Arthur Masonic Lodge #333 are called to assemble on Saturday at 1:30pm. Brothers and sisters of the Order of the Eastern Star, Grey Chapter #170 are called to assemble at 1:45pm.
