Obituary for Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Wade

Wade; Mary Elizabeth "Liz", P.M., #170

Despite her best efforts, on Thursday, October 24, 2019 Liz succumbed to the cancer that was found in her lungs at Chapman House Hospice, Owen Sound of Flesherton, formerly of Toronto in her 63rd year. Beloved partner of Brad Smith. Loving mother to, in her humble opinion, the 4 most amazing humans God ever created; Sarah Wade, Amber(Bobby) Horvath of Hamilton, April(Justin) Myles and Bobbi(Joe) Scully all of Flesherton. Liz was the proudest Granny to her 9 angels, Sloan, Marshall, Reiney, Allyson, Olive, Josephine, Everett, Rubyna, and Lucille. Much loved daughter of Bill Wade of Riverview, New Brunswick and Helen Wade of Toronto. She is greatly missed by Rob(Nancy Sinclair), Hannah and Jack Fawcett all of Markdale. Formerly referred to as "little bits" by her siblings Wendy (Dany) Cortese and Timothy (Rosemary) Wade of Riverview, New Brunswick. Daughter in-law of Jim(Gloria) Smith of Flesherton and Faith(Doug) Geddes of Guelph. Greatly missed by many nieces, nephews and great nieces, great nephews, cousins and extended family.

Liz loved her family and showed them that love by the ways she cared for them; especially when she fed them. She loved to cook and always had homemade soup ready for anyone who happened to stop by. Her love for family didn't stop with just her spouse, children and grandchildren; over the years Liz became a second mom to many of the girls' friends.
She had many fond memories of growing up in Toronto, reunions with her extended family, and adventures with the friends. She absolutely loved to sit and reminisce about dance class, family trips to Shediac and funny stories from her childhood. When not decorating for Christmas, Liz spent many hours having coffee, lunch and shopping dates with social group "The Girls"
Her presence will be truly missed by her family, especially the grand kids who got to spend a lot of time being spoiled with candies at Granny's.

The family will receive friends at Fawcett Funeral Cremation Reception, Flesherton on Sunday, October 27 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Sisters and Brothers of the Order of the Eastern Star, Grey Chapter #170, Flesherton are called to assemble for service at the funeral home on Saturday at 3:00pm for service.
