Suddenly, at Guelph General Hospital, of Mount Forest in her 88th year. Predeceased by her husband Guenther. Loving mother of Michael(Nora) Sommer of Flesherton and Ruby Sommer of Listowel. Loved and remembered by grandson Spencer(Sarah) Williams of Elora and great granddaughter Maren. Ruth will be greatly missed by good friend Heidi Neumann.
Born in the port city of Hamburg, Germany. Ruth left Germany as a young lady with her girlfriend on the ship M.S. "Arosa Sun" in 1957. She loved as a hobby working in oil paint, sketching and doing pottery work. For many years she ran a fur salon "Furs by Sommer" with her first husband Heinz. She loved to travel to Bahamas and different islands and back to Germany, her homeland.
One door gentle closes while another welcomes.
At Ruth's request, cremation has taken place. Donations to the World Wildlife Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
