After a courageous battle, passed peacefully at Louise Marshall Hospital in Mount Forest of Dundalk in her 61st year. Beloved daughter of the late Russell Delbert and Flossy Jeanette “Jean” (nee Allen) Shier. Dear sister of Nancy Barclay, Joanne(Mark) Parish, Sandra Shier(Bernie Philpott). Cherished aunt to Tanya, Amanda, Katelyn, James, Brendyn and great aunt to Ethin, Gavin, Bryce and Kaiden. Kathy will be deeply missed by extended family and friends.
Kathy was born June 1, 1958 in Shelburne, 2nd daughter to Russ & Jean Shier. She attended school in Shelburne and enjoyed activities in Dundalk growing up. She was always a hard worker, starting at the young age of 15 and thoroughly enjoyed snowmobiling, working on the farm and her motorcycle. She was an active member of her community in Dundalk, she was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, a Lioness, played darts, cards, lawn bowling and an avid golfer. Had a passion for travelling; east coast, west coast, the states, England, Switzerland and the Dominican. She loved time with her family and friends and her trips to the casino.
A celebration of Kathy’s Life will be held at the Wesleyan Church in Dundalk on April 27, 2019 from 1:00-4:00 with a time of memories shared at 2:00pm. Cremation has taken place and she will be laid to rest with her parents in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Dundalk.
