After a few tough years, at Grey Gables Nursing Home, Markdale formerly of Toronto on March 3, 2019 just a few months shy of his 80th birthday. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 56 years Shirley(nee Linton). Loving father of Joanne Corkum and grandfather of Eric Corkum both of Texas. He is reunited with his son David who passed August 23, 2018. Dear brother of Howard(Helen) Bell of Wasaga Beach. Predeceased by brothers Norman, Douglas, Murray, Lyle and sister Zelma Cole. He is survived by sister in-law Evelene Bell, Lottie Bell, Isabel Morrison and Edith Bell-Kotva.
Everett was born to Leslie and Minnie Bell on July 9, 1939 in Mulmur Township. Everett attended school in Badjeros and graduated from Flesherton District High School. He met and married the love of his life, Shirley, on May 26, 1962. They raised their children in Toronto where Everett worked as a steam fitter. In 1997, Everett and Shirley moved to Markdale where they thoroughly enjoyed retirement. He loved to fish, camp and do woodworking. He was a best friend to all the kids in the neighbourhood and he took great pride in yard maintenance.
The family will receive friends at the Fawcett Funeral Cremation Reception, Flesherton on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 from 7:00-9:00pm. Funeral service from the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 11:00am. Cremation to follow with spring interment at Markdale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would to Parkinson Society, Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation or the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
