Len was born at home in Kimberley on September 13, 1936 to Beyrl and Edith McConnell. He was educated in Kimberley and always loved “the valley” where he lived, often working far from home but knowing it was home when he came back. During his years working in construction, he sailed the Great Lakes on the iron ore freighters, specifically on Monaloulou the II as a grade operator, one of the best. In his spare time he loved to fish, hunt, trap, play cards and was an avid boater and waterskier. Most importantl though, was his family. Len was an amazing husband, outstanding father, and loving grandfather and great grandfather. He will be truly missed.

The family will receive friends at Fawcett Funeral Cremation Reception in Flesherton with visitation on Friday, March 2, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00pm and from 7:00 – 9:00pm with a service from the Kinplex (2 Highland Drive) Saturday at 10am. Interment Maxwell Cemetery. Reception to follow. Donations to Hospice Georgian Triangle (Campbell House) would be greatly appreciated.
