Peacefully at home surrounded by family on Thursday, February 8, 2018 of Flesherton in her 81st year. Beloved wife of Ron for over 60 years. Loving mother of Mike(Leonora Langner) of Berkeley, Marilyn(Glen) Delaat of Flesherton, Scott(Marjore) of Markdale and Colin(Sarah) of Flesherton. Outstanding Gram to Bill(Maki), Lindsay(Chris) Ferrie, Jacquie(Marty Barr), Stephanie(Scott) Wilkinson, Whitney(Travis) Hutchinson, Brett, Paige, Nolan and Nathan. Great Gram to 12 with one more on the way. Predeceased by infant son.
Joan was always known as a loving and kind person in the community, having served as a volunteer for many years with different organizations including Flesherton Minor Hockey and St.John's United Church. She could often be found walking about town running errands and catching up with everyone she passed. As an endless supporter of Flesherton minor sports, Joan loved reading about every goal and accomplishment made by the young athletes. Most of all, she loved taking care of her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joan will be greatly missed by many friends, church family, and the community.
The family will receive friends at Fawcett Funeral Cremation Reception on Wednesday, February 14 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm with a service from the chapel on Thursday at 11am. Reception to follow.
