Akitt; Anna Jane(nee Wilson)
At the age of 97, Anna passed away peacefully at Grey Gables on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 with her family by her side. Beloved wife of the late George Akitt. Dear mother of Sharon(Philip Stewart) of Kitchener, Barbara(Bill Gostick) of Flesherton, Diane(Debra Danylchuk) of Sarnia, Robert(Nancy) of Flesherton and Brian(Dorothy) of Ottawa. Cherished grandmother of 11 grandchildren and great grandmother(GG) to 11 great grandchildren. Predeceased by parents Robert William Wilson and Marjorie(nee Thibaudeau) and 8 brothers and sisters. She is remembered by many nieces, nephews and a wide social group of friends.
The family expresses their gratitude to the wonderful, loving care mom received during her 4 years at Grey Gables and the compassionate care of Dr. Power. Also to the ladies who provided care for mom so she could stay in her home at the fish ponds as long as possible. A special thank you to Ruth Jackson for her 24 hour care so mom could stay another year at home.
Anna was an active member of the Flesherton Legion and volunteered many years there preparing food and was most happy when she was preparing meals for her family and many firneds. The family will receive friends at Fawcett Funeral Home, Flesherton on Friday, September 29 from 7:00-9:00pm. Funeral service will be held at Rock Mills Baptist Church Saturday at 1:00pm. Interment Maxwell Cemetery. Donations to the Alzheimer Society or Chapman House Hospice, Owen Sound would be gratefully appreciated.
