Peacefully at Grey Gables Nursing Home, Markdale on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 in his 86th year. Beloved husband of June(nee Middleton). Loving father of Carol(Bill) Beckton of Toronto and the late David. Loved and remembered by daughter in-law Janice and granddaughters Amanda and Heather. Dear brother of Maureen(Robert) Lamb of England and the late Bill and Peter Patterson. Allan is survived by sisters in-law Eleanor Rondeau of Shelburne and Doreen Nossiter of England.

Allan was born in Billingham, England to Stan and Lillian Patterson on October 7, 1931. He met the love of his life, June and married her in Billingham on July 18, 1953. They moved with their two children to Canada in 1965 for a new life. Allan started his career as a sheet metal worker but found his calling at the TTC. They enjoyed over the years camping, then purchasing a trailer and gardening at their house in the valley. He adapted to Canadian culture, thoroughly enjoying watching hockey.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Allan's life will take place at Grey Gables Nursing Home August 12 at 2pm with a reception to follow at Annesley United Church, Markdale.
