Murray, of Allan Park, passed away suddenly with Kay, Tricia and Steve by his side, at Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound on Thursday, June 8, 2017 in his 73rd year. Born in Markdale, Ontario on January 4, 1945 to the late Malcolm and Pearl Black. Dear brother to Charles and Beatrix Black, Ann and Ralph Hollis and brother in-law to Carol Black and Kay Black. Predeceased by his sister Marie and brothers Raymond and Bill and infant daughter. Haggard will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Sadly missed by son Kevin Black of Guelph, daughters Marcie(Garth) Lowry of Sawyerville, Quebec, Deanna(Ashley) Geraghty of Yellowknife, North West Territories, and son Gary. Loving grandfather of Patrick, Kimberly, William, Alexandria, Kathryn and Andrea.
Murray worked 45 years as a heavy equipment operator and continued this work right up to last week. Known as Haggard for his love and skill with the guitar, and thoroughly enjoyed singing and dancing. He took great pride in property, constantly planting trees and keeping the cedar hedges trimmed.

The family will receive friends at the Fawcett Funeral Cremation Reception, 1 Highland Drive Flesherton, on Monday, June 12 from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm. Mass of Christian burial from St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, Glenelg on Tuesday at 11:00am. Interment at St. John’s Cemetery, Glenelg.
